IHFA Premier Bull Sale report:

There was an 83% clearance at the IHFA Premier Bull Sale which took place in Nenagh Livestock Mart on Wednesday 31st March.  Top Price of €4,500 was achieved by Lisduff Omega ET owned by John O’Sullivan, Lisduff, Whitechurch, Co. Cork purchased by Rodger Rice.  A total of 34 bulls walked through the ring, 28 of whom sold achieving an average price of €2,753.  Richard Whelan performed Judging duties on the day and awarded Champion to Mervyn Eager’s Evergrange Goldsmith ET who later sold for €4,100 and Reserve Champion to Mervyn & Philip Jones’ Hallow Tobs ET sold for €2,600.  Top 5 prices achieved on the day were;

Mervyn Eager’s Evergrange Goldsmith ET for €4,100

Maurice Harty’s Ballylongane Vanessa Oman ET for €4,100

Tom Kelly’s Monamore Equality for €4,200

John O’Sullivan’s both Lisduff Ominous for €4,300 and Lisduff Omega ET for €4,500.

 

 

Re.: STANDARDS OF ENTRY 

IHFA PREMIER BULL SALE 2010 – Wednesday 31st March 

We  wish to give you notice of health requirements for the 2010 IHFA Premier Bull Sale as decided at at the IHFA Board Meetings of April and September ’09.

All bulls will have to be TB Tested and Brucellosis tested within 60 days of the Sale.  

BVD Virus Free TEST required (from January 1st, 2010).  This can be done same time as bloods.  You need to allow 2 – 3 weeks for the results of this test.

Minimum Standards Apply:

Both the Dam & G.Dam must be classified GP or better

The Dam to have a minimum of 600kgs combined Fat & Protein

Friesian Class Dam to have a minimum of 500kgs combined Fat & Protein 

EBI Award in each class (Replacing separate class)

Certificates must be issued for all entrants.

All bulls will be pre-inspected on the morning of the sale to determine that they are of a Quality standard for a Premier Sale.

The Breed Development Committee will decide on the number of bulls which will be accepted.  If there are excess numbers of entries, there will be further screening based on Protein %.
