The 12th World Conference hosted by IHFA was a resounding success with 350 foreign delegates from the following 34 countries. In all over 700 people attended the conference where they heard 18 presentations in 6 sessions over the one and half days followed by reports from various working groups to the general assembly on Friday afternoon. We have had an amazing feed back complementing the IHFA on the conference programme, the choice of topics, the quality of the presentations and the efficient organisation.
The entertainment laid on, the quality of the Brehon and Gleneagle hotels, the friendliness of their staff, the welcome afforded to everybody and the overall hospitatlity have all been mentioned in the dozens of complimentary emails received since. The great sale where 27 young animals averaged €5,877 and gravitated to various parts of the world. Of course most important was the World Conference Show. This was undoubtedly the best display ever at a show in Ireland and the foreign visitors were hugely impressed. The Irish breeders are to be congratulated and thanked for their huge effort to make this a great showcase for our breed. With over 300 entries and quality to the end of the line in every class it was a resounding success and certainly lifted the profile of Irish Holsteins Worldwide.
