BVD SAMPLES 

Independent Milk Laboratories (IML) to BVD test and store IHFA breeders BVD tissue tags for two years which can then be used for further testing. 

Please contact Independent Milk Laboratories to set up an account. It is important that you state you are an IHFA MEMBER to ensure the tags are stored. 

Transfers of samples from other laboratories is not possible for further testing.

BVD TISSUE TAG FOR FURTHER TESTING  

CONDITIONS FOR USING BVD TISSUE TAG FOR FURTHER TESTING: 

  1. The BVD sample must be with IML. 
  2. You must have previously informed IHFA of your preference for using the BVD tissue rather than receiving the hair cards. (AUTOMATED SYSTEM IN PLACE) 
  3. You agree to the €6 charge levied by Weatherbys for sample preparation, in addition to the Registration charge. 

NOTE (this €6 charge is separate to the BVD charge) 

PROCEDURE FOR REGISTERING MALE ANIMALS Once you name a male animal your BVD tissue sample will be automatically sent for testing, if you authorised IHFA.
