Organisation & Rules

The association consists of 15 regional clubs covering the geographical regions of the country. Additionally, there are individual clubs for the Irish Pure Friesian breeders and a Young Members Association (YMA) club.

Combined, these clubs represent the genetic diversity of the registered Irish Holstein Friesian cattle population. From within these clubs, an IHFA board of directors is elected. The board members represent the views of their club membership and combine to collectively give direction and guidance to the Association. From within the Board there are separate committees to specifically steer the association’s financial, breed development and breed promotion responsibilities.
