YMA Showmanship League
The Showmanship League is a competition introduced by YMA as a platform to emphasise stockmanship skills. It is a great spectacle of young people, aged 12 to 26, showing their mastery of presentation, handling and showing skills.
The Showmanship League Finals is a prestigious event in the YMA calendar year, where participants must qualify through earlier rounds at local show level to earn their place at the finals. Typically held at the end of the show season, the finals bring together the top performing individuals. Members must accumulate a minimum of 24 points in order to progress to the Showmanship League Finals, held at the National Dairy Show.
The league runs across three classes:
- Class A: Handlers aged 12 years and under on 1st January
- Class B: Handlers aged 13 to 16 years on 1st January
- Class C: Handlers aged 17 to 26 years on 1st January

A total of 24 points qualifies a member for the YMA Showmanship League Finals, held at the National Dairy Show.
